This album is flawless. The ending of One for the Vine is absolutely incredible-always hit maximum volume when it’s on

This is a wonderful and beautiful album. I always listen to this in October and much of Winter. Just seems to fit. The layering of sounds and top notch musicianship is throughout.

Vaguely familiar with their entire catalog of work I happened on this years ago just prior to Heading to Europe (Holland) it was in my head almost everyday . I later learned it was recorded there. I love this album for its melodic moments almost reminding of Days of Future Past .

Arguably their best LP. I bought this years ago on original and today on 180 gram remastered. Great album. I love Afterglow.
My Second Genesis Tour and Album

Another excellent album following in the wake of Gabriel's departure showing that the band was much more than a one man dominated group. Eleventh Earl of Mar was a fabulous opening number during these tours.
A classy album

Wind and Wuthering is another solid Genesis album and at one point it was one of my favorites but not anymore. It probably contains their best song titles...One For The Vine, Wot Gorilla?, The Unquiet Slumbers For The Sleepers, etc... The album is hindered by Tony. Banks' thick wall or cloud of keyboards, particularly organ. And I think both Your Own Special Way and Blood on the Rooftops are rather dull. However, it is still a very complex but listenable album and contains one of my all time favorite Genesis songs, Afterglow. Amazing song! Other highlights to me are Tony Banks' other two songs, All In A Mouse's Night and One for the Vine...I particularly love the lyrics on the latter. Oh yes, and I love the cover and the original record sleeve. Good album.
Phil finds his voice

This is the album that truly marks the transition to the Phil Collins era. Sure, Steve Hackett is still in the band but you can hear the songs getting tighter. Even the longer tracks like Eleventh Earl of Mar and One for the Vine are getting crisper. But where it truly shows the transition to the Genesis mk 2 phase is in Your Own Special Way the closing tryptych of songs, closing with the fabulous Afterglow.
The album does have a bit of a rough patch in the middle, especially the start of side 2, as some of the songs start to point to the direction they would take on And Then There Were Three, but it's still quite good and truly the end of prog-era Genesis and the beginning of their pop years.
Solid Album

A great album, the last with Hackett on guitar. I feel like the album is somewhat less powerful than A Trick of The Tail, with several tracks I could go without. In that quiet earth, One for the vine, and Afterglow are the standout tracks for me, I also enjoy Eleventh Earl of Marr. Great Album!

Besides Seconds Out, And Then There Were Three, I would say this is their best work before they became too commercial and I found myself fast forwarding through half of their later songs. To enjoy and appreciate Genesis is to listen to their non-hits, and their earlier songs. However, can't say I'm a big fan of their late 60's music.
