Good instrumentals. Miss the vocals a bit and i heard that Mastodon did not write these tunes but that they wrote the original score and it was scraped and a different person wrote these songs and they just played on them. Ho dare they insult this band pity

I was pleasantly surprised to see these guys had done work for a soundtrack. Deathmarch begins with a cool ominous, plodding guitar but never really takes off. The alternate version adds some lead guitar that adds a bit more texture. My only complaint with the Clayton Boys is that I wish this one could've been longer. Love the riff that breaks in at the final minute. Alternate version is same as above. Indian Theme at times reminds me a bit of the Last Baron. Train Assault may be my favorite here.

This is a steal for 3.99 and has only wet my appetite for the next Mastodon album. The real treat here is the alternate versions of Death March and Clayton Boys, which feature additional guitar work and build upon the original's greatness. Get this if you are a fan of Mastodon.

Mastodon are known for citing so many progressive rock influences, that my hearing shades of very early ELO on Death March is unwarranted.
  • Movie: D+; Soundtrack: B+

Wow, no suprise here. The soundtrack is more popular than the movie!!! Hahaha!!! However, this is for a good reason. The soundtrack is wonderfully crafted by rising metal stars Mastodon, who, after their journeys and experiments with screamo-core and prog metal, can now add "instrumentalists" to their resume.
  • Refreshing!!

Really nice to hear something that rips for a change!! I am so sick of "Bieber Fever" and auto-tune rap cr*p-it's no wonder the music industry is in trouble...
