Blood Mountain (Deluxe Version)

What a mess this music is! It's so jumbled that, in each song, it sounds like there's the start of 30 different songs changing from moment to moment. These guys are really lacking in talent in a total sense. Every single song sounded like a normal metal track skipping. There was no cohesiveness to anything. Vocals switching from somebody trying to hack up a hairball to whiney warbling sometimes several times in one song. Further, this album features the absolute worst, most spastic percussion that I've ever suffered through. The guy sounded like a hyperactive 4 year old given a toy drum set. He's clearly rhythm deficient. The brief flashes of competent guitar are obscured by the random and distracting crap vocals and drumming. With metal that eschews any semblance of vocal skill, at least I can usually say that they have some good guitar work, but I can't even say that. These guys are hacks and this album is totally needless. It's music as an excuse for being more angry than the average person.

Have been listening to this album since its release. Still catch myself drinking and shooting pool listening to the album in its entirety! If you're a fan of progressive/metal/hard rock, you won't be disappointed!!

After several years of listening to blood mountain, it still remains as one of my favorite albums ever. I still to this day get a high from it. Originality is hard to come by these days, and mastodon breaks through any mold set before them to deliver one of the greatest metal albums ever and in the whole genre of rock n roll.

Has anyone else experienced a problem with downloading any songs for the deluxe version of "Blood Mountain", specifically track four?

This is one of the sickest albums out there. From the ridiculous drums in the wolf is loose to the enchanting guitar opening of sleeping giant (I suggest the deluxe version) to the haunting lyrics/guitar of this mortal soil, it's just a fantastic album. Mastodons masterpiece (in my opinion) I HIGHLY recommend purchasing this album, well worth the $11.99

I recomend this Albume to everyone that likes metal. :)

To me, all the songs on this album kinda blow.....EXCEPT Sleeping Giant. That song is mind blowing. They should make more songs like that and more songs like the ones on Crack te Skye

Myself just like many other people, didnt like Mastodon at first. I kept seeing Divinations on Headbanger's Ball so I went to iTunes, and at the time the video was free so I downloaded it. I was really impressed so I got Colony of Birchmen and Oblivion. I never like Blood and Thunder because at the time i wasnt in to screaming, but then I bought Guitar Hero: Metallica (highly recommended) and I started to like that song as well as Iron Tusk and Seabeast. Once I became a drumming freak I just wanted crazy drumming songs so I started looking at this album and I loved it...so all in all Mastodon is a great metal band and I like 3 out of the 4 albums, i really dont care for Remission that much but i will give them credit for it being their debut album. Leviathan-4.5/5 Blood Mountain-4.75/5 Crack the Skye-4/5 \m/ on Mastodon.

This album is amazing..it has something for everybody..Bladecatcher might just be the sickest song on this cd..
