AS CLOSE TO THE EDGE. ALSO NOT AS GOOD AS MAGNIFICATION, OR THE 2011 VERSION OF FLY FROM HERE.

Love this album, wish they would make a sequal. Mixed by Virgil Howe a.k.a. "The Verge" (and son of Steve Howe). Maybe you have to be a fanatic Yes fan to really appreciate this! <3
  • So fresh and creative!

I love this take on Yes classics. First of all, who else would tackle Ritual and Soundchaser?! As has already been said, it's a fresh spin on melodies and riffs that all good Yes fans have heard thousands of times, and it's FUN! Personally I like that it's techno, but it's not really danceable. Maybe that's what would sound "wrong" to a traditional dance remixer: that Virgil managed to inject steady beats and at the same time maintain some cool time signature changes, often different from the original ones. This record always makes me smile! As Steve said, "why don't you do some more?"
  • Very Unnecessary

I don't think a lot of these mixes really suit what Yes is about. However, this version/remix of the Bill Bruford-penned "5% For Nothing" is very very cool. I actually like it better than the original version from Fragile.
  • Not the Yes I know and love.

Don't get me wrong. Yes is my all time favorite band but, this just isn't for me.
  • Kaleidoscopic treatment of some favorites

While the results aren't perfect, it is interesting to hear melodies and riffs that I know so well twisted and tortured. Every now and then a phrase produces the same emotional response I get hearing the originals and I find myself smiling. This is infinitely better than another greatest hits package that just takes the same songs and reorders them.
  • Odd.

I want to like this. I really do. I just can't get into it though. I love Yes. I love electronic. However, the rhythms here are just... off. I can't quite place it, but something about the rhythm is just wrong. It's not for lack of trying, though. I just think the "Generator" era stuff suits remixes way better. The Siberian Kahtru remix is probably the best here.
  • Check this out!!

I have been a HUGE Yes fan for over 30 years and I love this CD. Although I'm not a huge fan of techno or rave music, what blows me away is the genious of this music that lends itself for this application. I feel it's a masterpiece and kudos to "the Virg" for skillfully pulling it off! Thank You!!
