But that’s about it . Where has the Prog Rock sound gone for Yes since the Union Album . Their music sounds New Age . I think these guys could play ok stuff , but they should try to pull from the older sound . How about some time changes and songs with different parts .

Well, you can see from the other reviews that there are quite a few "if there's no Jon Anderson, its not Yes" people out there. Thats not me... "Drama" and "Fly from Here" are both among my favorite albums, and JA isn't on them, either. I'm not going to lie and say this is the best Yes album ever, but its excellent music, well performed and recorded. I'm not even going to try to rank it among Yes albums- I've been listening to them for over 40 years and my own tastes and rankings even change over time. I will say that its Jon Davison's strongest vocal outing yet, without the over-enunciated, tentative quaver found on his previous performances. If you are a fan of the "Close to the Edge" era Yes, this may or may not resonate with you. I'm a fan of that era, and it does resonate with me, Its closer to that than to the 90125 era (which aI also enjoy). It certainly resonates more than today's gridded, sequenced, autotuned, and ProTools-created factory-made rock. Give it a listen.

there,s only 1 true vocalist with the name of JON! and it,s definitely not Davidson but this lp sounds like a yes cover band trying to sing new songs as their last harrah tour for theirs fans but please don,t blame it on covid-19 which is a sad part of the world and is here to stay. nice try mates!

I was surprised to learn YES released a new album in 2021. Now I know why. The lead singer and song writer Jon Anderson, is missing and it shows terribly. The songs are garbage and despite how much the new singer try’s to sound like Jon, it still comes across as a cover band. Sad they can still call themselves YES!

Sound is much in that Cantebury vein. Shorter compositions, and Sherwood has had a heavy influence in the sound. Not the album many had hoped for, but it is here, it is not a throwaway, and honestly, the softness is growing more pleasing each time. Take it for what its worth, find some joy, but leave the bashing aside. Six decades of making new and often important music, you want them all to be CTTE 2.0?

Another lifelong YES fan. I forced myself to listen through. I will have to pass on this one.

My expectation were low because the previous Yes album Heaven and Earth was dull and lifeless. The Quest is 1000x better. The production is great. Steve Howe's guitar work is excellent. The songs are all good, if not particularly rocking. Jon Davison sounds great on vocals here. It's not 1970s Yes, but it's really good for 2021.

The Ice Bridge and The Western Edge are songs that hark back to the glory days … the other songs are listenable, but ultimately pale in the light of the classic YES canon, that’s pretty obvious. That said the album sounds really good even if it lacks some of the punch of the earlier incarnations. A solid release compared to the last one, this lineup is finally jelling. YES has morphed into a band somewhat unrecognisable to older fans (like me) … missing CS and JA, but Billy serves the job very well as does Jon Davison.

Snipets of lost music here, trying to snatch back the old days. Not working. Sounds good, but not for those that lived thier dream long ago. Asia, as someone said? More like 'Starcastle', but even they had 'Fountains of Light'.

This album is ok, it even has some shining moments, but it’s not anything we haven’t heard before and done better on other albums. I am going to see if it grows on me but so far, meh.
