Funny enough actually my wife and I saw Taylor Swift Eras Tour in Theaters tonight and Switchfoot at the complex/Salt Lake tonight! (I think each were on Big Machine records right?) It was so surreal to see the band live (3rd time!) but to hear the beautiful letdown in its entirety was beyond words beautiful. We had such a crazy night beforehand but Jon came right up to our section and grabbed my hand and made our night/week/maybe life! The songs are as powerful as ever and I’m exited to listen to the re-recordings in depth along with the excellent covers with Tyler Joseph (21 Pilots), Ryan Tedder (one republic) , Adam Young (Owl city ) and Jonas Brothers (another Taylor Swift connection??) 5 star album, band and people. Album/Concert of a lifetime

Even though that Switchfoot was signed to a major record label they both went through the same route that Taylor went through with big machine records. And now Switchfoot is doing the same thing. I think this record in my opinion is good and excellent but I think the original and re recording both wins in my opinion. And this version of meant to live the drums are more punchier but the original it’s more soft but I think both versions are excellent and both sound great for all these years but just wished that Switchfoot done a proper anniversary record that included demos and remix version of the beautiful letdown but for me I got what I wanted.

I am so grateful for this band. I can’t tell you how many times their music has lifted me. This record started it all for me. The re-recording is great. They stayed true to the magic of the original.

Twenty years later, SF reclaims TBL and proves they are still On Fire with a raw honesty that invited a generation of loyal fans to join them on a musical journey. They challenged listeners with questions like “This is Your Life (are you who you want to be?)”. That lyric hits a little different after so much time has come and Gone. Buy it or stream it…I Dare You to Move to your preferred music source and revisit an album that almost didn't happen. Time has proven that this band and these songs were surely Meant to Live (for so much more). The guys from San Diego still sound More Than Fine to me!

I wish the new versions were a bit more different, with new arangements and new instrumentation, but it's mostly just a straightforward re-recording of the classic album. Still, I love this band, and it's cool to see them celebrate an album that means so much to me. They're easily my favorite band of all time.
