I'm a huge fan of switchfoot... but this is terrible. If your going to remix an album don't do a bunch of dubstep crap on a rock album. Think people!

I never thought Switchfoot would sound good in such an electronic setting, but these re-mixes are really cool. This album in particular, I think, lends itself much more to remixes than, say, Oh, Gravity! or The Beautiful Letdown would. I still like the original Vice Verses better, but this was a pleasant suprise.

Umm.....dubstep, and switchfoot.... i think it just doesn't match each other...sorry switchfoot! a remix album was a nice try but i would rather prefer an acoustic album!
  • Nice set of remixes

This album is worth buying for any Switchfoot fan. I don't like the remixed version of The War Inside, because it loses the backbeat feel that made the original version so good. All the other ones are great, though.

Most of the songs on here are pretty great. I love Switchfoot, and I think they did a pretty good first try with remixes and techno. I agree with a couple other comments; Don't get this album if you're listening to this band for the first time. Get "Hello Hurricane" or "Beautiful Letdown". I think my favorite album of theirs is "Hello Hurricane". Simply amazing. The Original: This remix is not my favorite, they didn't do such a good job on this one. They cut out a lot of the lyrics and used voice distortion, so it sounded a little wierd. I think the maxiumum of this song was reached with the normal version. That one was rockin'. Selling the News: It was really cool the first minute, but then it repeats the same techno part for the whole thing and it makes you go, "Please, something else!" They did a lot of lyric cutting in this too. Maximum was reached in normal version. Blinding Light: One of the best songs on this album. They kept in all the lyrics and added a little synth and guitar... The chorus was pretty sweet. If you only want to get a few songs off this, definetly get this one. More maximum when remixed. Darkest Horses: This one was OK. I liked that they kept in most of the lyrics, but you know in a song you look forward to the chorus? Well, in this song you look forward to the verses. The chorus is a little boring. The normal version was better. Vice Verses: This was OK, the voice distortion was wierd though. I didn't like that. Probably the only thing I didn't like. The War Inside: One of the better ones on the album. Definetly below Blinding Light, but still pretty good. They made it sound more airy than the normal version. About the same though, preference wise. Afterlife: Absulutly the best song on this album. It is terrific. My jaw dropped to the floor when I heard it the first time. Great techno and synth, They kept in the vast majority of the lyrics, and it was a little faster than the normal version. Definetly a must buy.

I love Switchfoot and Jon Foreman, but I was pretty nervous when they announced this remix. However, this album totally surprised me with a few excellent tracks: 1. The Original 2. Blinding Light 3. Darkest Horses 4. The War Inside These were all amazing. The Original has a really cool groove, and I like how they vocalized the lead guitar riff. Blinding Light absolutely blew me away with the amazing chorus (I like it better than the first version). Darkest Horses has a very cool sound to it, considering how heavy it was originally. And finally, The War Inside: this song was made to be remixed, absolutely awesome with the new musical dynamics and cutouts. To be honest though, I was so disappointed with the remaining tracks. Selling the news is pretty annoying. Afterlife is bearable. But Vice Verses? Really?!? They should never have touched such a beautiful song and turned it into they did. But that's just my opinion. The good songs make up for the awful ones.
