I absolutely love this! John and the rest of Skillet you guys were the first band I ever got into and you guys have changed my life forever! I’m in a Christian band now (Uncommon Union), music is my life, all thanks to you guys! There is not a song or Album of yours that I don’t like and thank you for being the awesome people you guys are! Don’t listen to these negative comments I think you guys are awesome! :) John I especially look up to you I’m a bassist myself and saw you in concert, and my love for your music and bass playing skills grew even more! Keep being awesome and God bless!
Hints of old, but more of the same.

I have been to 20 Skillet shows and I will continue to see them live. Honestly one of the best live bands I've ever watched. HARDCORE panhead since Colloide. Unfortunately, Skillet has chosen a more "radio" freindly theme for their albums now. Bland stereotypical head nodding rock. More of the same with the same tunes and pretty corny lyrics tbh. I love Skillet probably more than anyone but they are not who they once were. Fire inside of Me has hints of the Skillet of old and is my favorite song. Now its mostly political with little to no violin/chelo and just feels....cheesy? I wish them the best going solo without the label, but if they want to be successful, they can't be afraid of taking a few steps back and channeling the roots.
2.5 Stars Lyrically disappointing

While the music is largely fine, this album fails in the lyrical department. Message wise it’s cliche at best and empty of heart at worst. Except for the sentimental “Happy Wedding Day” and “Fire Inside of Me” there little to no of John Cooper the man in these songs. This is easily my least favorite of the Skillet catalogue.
Amazing music!

Great Christian rock music Skillet! Keep up the work please! Hopefully the rest of the alb will be Christian or Christian based rock metal music! Hoping for a new Skillet album in a few months! Unpopular sounds good so far. I Unpopular about 88 percent as my current favorite form this one so far. And I like All that Matters about 85 percent a bit slower but still good with a great Christian message which is about all you need is your foster and family to live life with. Since he’s a Christian he means you need God first. Good Christian metal album so far! Also I’m exited to listen to the album once it releases. And their new song Ash in The Wind sounds good so far too. And also great album except for Happy wedding Day (Alex’s song since that’s slow and boring. Everything else is amazing and good sounding and upbeat. It also supports the conservative Christian concept that is rebelling against the evil woke and liberal political ideology of todays culture and world! Great album about 83.5 percent!
Excellent

If you ask me, Dominion was their worst album they ever made, there were some enjoyable songs but I’d say 3/4 of the album was not good. When I found out they ditched Capital Music, I got super excited they were going independent, I wanted the real Skillet with pure rock and emotion in the lyrics, and in my opinion, Revolution delivered just that.
Every song packs a deep punch and the lyrical aspect of it is fantastic. I heard touches of Comatose, Awake, and Rise in some songs whereas I also hear the raw rock sound of Collide and the early stuff as well in other tracks. Definitely a great comeback for Skillet!

Yeah skip this one. I will forever wish that skillet could channel what they were in the early 2000s instead of feeding us disappointment after disappointment.

Showtime - 3/5
Unpopular - 2.5/5
All That Matters - 2.5/5
Not Afraid - 2/5
Revolution - 2/5
Ash In the Wind - 4.5/5
Fire Inside of Me - 4.25/5
Defector - 4/5
Happy Wedding Day (Alex’s Song) - 4.25/5
Death Defier - 3/5
Showtime: It’s not terrible, just kinda empty.
Unpopular: It’s… fine. Just fine. The tune is fine, the lyrics are fine, it’s just fine.
All That Matters: They said this wouldn’t be a political album, but this song is pretty political, even though it doesn’t outright say it. It just gives off those vibes. That said, the tune is pretty good.
Not Afraid: Not really liking the “I, Am, Not Afraid” part. Just sounds weird.
Revolution: Lyrics are meh, and tune is not great. The background guitar/synth in the chorus are too much.
Ash In the Wind: Great tune, great lyrics, this is exactly what I want from Skillet. So far the best track on the album.
Fire Inside of Me: Great lyrics, great tune. It - unlike other songs in the album - actually has meaning. I love the violins. They seem to have an absence in the rest of the album, even though they’ve been an integral part of Skillet since Comatose.
Defector: Great tune, good lyrics, even a touch of metal vocals.
Happy Wedding Day (Alex’s Song): Different genre (acoustic), but still good. Great lyrics, and overall good song.
Death Defier: Heavier song, more of an anthem. Still a good tune.
Overall rating: 3.2/5
