Amazing album. Just her dedication alone to Dance Diva DONNA SUMMER alone is worth the purchase. Sometimes Like Butterflies is a hidden gem by Donna and Kristine does a wonderful tribute

I will first say that my preference for the Land of the Living versions creates an aesthetic conundrum to judge this album. The reinterpreations of Feel What You Want and Land of the Living are not up to the originals and that is due to the re-recorded vocals. I understand though as RCA has control over including them here. So I have to refrain my preference. The original vocals of Feel What You Want are used in the bonus tracks included here as remixes and both are stronger. But overall the new songs included such as So Close To Me, Everything I Got, Room At The Top, and Sometimes Like Butterflies make the album for me. The song I Get Up a revision of Land of the Living's Don't Wanna Think only adds to its original.
Awesome!

This CD is wonderful from beginning to end! I love the new takes on old favorites and ESPECIALLY love the new songs. The immediate stand outs are "Love Come Home", both versions of "Through the Fire", "Glow On" and "Sometimes Like Butterflies". I can't wait for the extended remixes. I love Kristine W!!!!

I am a tried-and-true Kristine W fan--I need to admit my bias first and foremost. With that said, I am L-O-V-I-N-G this new album and haven't been able to stop listening! I truly have enjoyed the reworked versions of Land of the Living, Feel What You Want, and especially Lovin' You. She and her team have put amazing effort into giving us a refreshed take with the songs on this album whether they are her own or covers of other artists' songs. Just when you think a song is more electronic in nature, she infuses it with a guitar riff and goes a little rock on us.
Beyond the feel of the music on this album, the cover of Donna Summers' Sometimes Like Butterflies--really showcase her powerhouse vocals. She has a voice like no other. I remember hearing her voice for the first time. I thought she was a Martha Wash-esque big, black woman (said with love and admiration by a big, white, gay boy!) because of the soul and depth of her voice. I felt like we didn't hear much of that on The Power of Music, but this album brings back her big voice.
In the same vane as another reviewer, with all the tartlets popularized by the music industry, Kristine is someone who DESERVES the spotlight and accolades because she is a true musician and amazing vocalist. She is everything that is right with music and wrong with the music industry!
Lovin' You, KW!! :-)
