Time has been a teacher…

…this album is as much a TESTAMENT to Rollo's producing as Kristine's Voice. Others have said it, the bar was set too high for later albums to come close. Seriously one of my favorite albums EVER, which I actually had the opportunity to communicate to Kristine W face to face and in person. She simply replied, "uh, huh." Serious let down.

THE BEST DANCE ALBUM EVER MADE!
Rollo, Rob D, Goetz...and the undisputed Queen of Dance. Every artist should aspire to create a record like this one.
Thought provoking lyrics, classic beats, and wonderful instrumentation.
THE BEST. PERIOD!
20 Years After and Still Amazes

Land of the Living set the bar for diva driven house forever. This album still amazes me as much as I did when I first listened to it 20 years ago in 1996. I heard its first single "Feel What You" at a video bar one night in 1994 and the next day I went to the record store to find it. That song to this day is my favorite song ever. When this came out I did not hesitate to buy it after hearing that stirling first single and it was long awaited by me and my friends. Land of Living is seamless in its perfect production and that voice on each track phenomial. While other dance songs used the church house diva, Land of the Living surpassed them with Kristine's powerful delivery. I am unable to pick my favorite track here aside from "Feel What You Want"--it was the first song I ever heard so it has some special memories to it. Kristine's other albums do not match up to this and I blame RCA for attempting to mainstream her and pushing her music into being to pop focused. But I must admit Land of the Living set too high a standard for Kristine W to surpass for those who bought this album first--vocally still she has it, production wise not as much.
NO OTHER KW ALBUM COMES CLOSE TO THIS

September 25, 2015: This is and will always be THE GREATEST Kristine W. album EVER. None of her albums after "Land of the Living" come remotely close to this masterpiece, and I don't think one ever will.
A Masterpiece

...which set the bar too high for latter releases by the multi-talented W.

From the first single from this album, Feel What You Want, I've been a die-hard Kristine W fan. One More Try was the second single and Rollo's Big Mix was stuck on repeat forever! Land Of The Living was the third single and remixes by Junior and Dekkard, among others, took it to a whole other level! There should have been other official singles like, Don't Wanna Think and Let Me In. There are also remixes of Don't Wanna Think on Itunes by Kerri Chandler that were previously unreleased. This cd remains in my car to this day! It never gets old to me! Produced by Rollo, who would go on to create the group Faithless and produce little sister Dido, this album was ahead of its time! I'm glad that BMG finally released the digital version of this!
