As always, Jody Watley has created an amazing mellow and sexy vibe. But just when you are lulled in by that rich mellow silk velvet voice, she surprises you with a sharp almost hysterical couple of notes. She has influenced so many of the female r&b singers out there today. If this is any indication of what's in store, I cannot wait until the entire album is released in February.

With each release, Jody never disappoints, and still has it! A mature artist comfortable in her own skin. Candlelight is sensuous without being forced, a slight old school vibe meeting a new school flava without sounding contrived. Jody manages to keep a youthful exuberence, without sacrificing quality. Her voice is still sweet after all these years and still distinct, but yet she sounds like a woman who knows what she wants without over singing or over emoting one note. Her music never sounds desparate or like she is jumping on a trend which is also why I will always love me some Ms. Watley.
