Love it. Old school, Tom Jones-ish feel. With a rock voice. Give Dave credit for exploring outside of the Van Halen sound. I dig it! Shack

No wonder he couldn't give away his solo music around this time....awful!
  • Two and a half stars is more appropriate

While there are a few decent tracks on this album of cover tunes, Dave fails to stay in one direction, which leaves the listener a bit confused about what or even why this record exists. Sorry Dave, you are and always will be one of my heroes going back to my childhood, but this is not a very good album. I gave it three stars, only because I can't seem to make a half star. In all reality, this is a 2 and 1/2 star record at best. Thank god Van Halen took him back.

i expected this to be crap. DLR was musically kinda off the grid when this came out. But a fair shake (Preview All) says otherwise. I kinda agree with the comparison to “Diver Down.” No, don’t get me wrong, there is no “Hang Em High," "Full Bug,” “Oh Pretty Woman,” or anybody that can go head to head with EVH. Bt, this is fun to listen to. Way more fun than VH III. I needed prozac when that came out.
  • A Fun Album.!!!

This is not your standard David Lee Roth offering. This is Dave doing updated versions of songs form other bands. That's right a D.L.R. cover album. This album was fun, smart, musically full of sound that screams effort. I'm not a big fan of Dave but I can't get enough of this album. There is no wild guitar, overactive drums and, no over produced vocals. This 2003 offering instead gives us a variety of musical instruments and musical stylings that will please anyone. Get this, you won't be sorry.

This is a solid effort by DLR. It isnt straight ahead rocker album but the best Dave's voice has sounded in years. A couple of tunes may scratch your head in wondering why did he put this on here, but overall its still David Lee Roth in form and charm and definitely better than anything VH can do without him. Loved Shoo Bop, Say Why The Night Is Young, and Dave's tune: Thug Pop!
