The Man from Waco

Folks, My son made Charley aware to me in 2017. Since then I have become one of Charley’s staunchest supporters. The man has a vision that is irresistible if you truly love good music. Charley is a time traveler of the musical variety. He is all the best of the last 75 years in music rolled up Into one tight focused musical program. The “Man from Waco” is a classic slice of American music. I felt “Music City USA” was Charley’s high point but the man is full of surprises. Do yourself a favor. Go buy his whole catalog and treat yourself to the best Country/ soul/ Rhythm/ blues/ gulf western has to offer. I truly hope Charley is around for years because I believe he is a national treasure that is currently being discovered. High praise? I don’t think so. He deserves all the attention we can Offer him. A true legend has arrived folks and his name is Charley Crockett. Go ahead and Treat yourself to some top shelf music right now!

This record has it all. Country, western, blues, funk! Charley has a swagger we should all be jealous of.

I reached about 5 listens to this album top to bottom and its an impressive piece of musical work. Each time I get to the end, I'm reaching for the restart button, cause its just that good. Very impressive work Charlie, your making a statement musically and its very refreshing. Keep it up.

Every album is good by Charley. Not sure where one album stops and the next one starts a lot of the time, but his worst song is still a thousand times better than anything that passes for radio country music

As good as some of the best Johnny Cash albums. (E.g. “July Jackson”) it’s also as good as some of Bob Dylan’s best. And some of it it has a rollicking Mick Jagger feel to it. And Trinity River is genuine New Orleans music… something no other country artist is doing.
