I swear I hear the sounds of Seattle grunge, underground and definitely Curt Cobain influences although Johnny Rzeznik never refers to Nirvana, but I hear some of it in vocals lyrics and musical chords. I am a fan of this group becaise it’s music is timeless yet represents a place in time. Name never gets old or IRIS or Black Balloon or Slide, Naked, Girl Right Next to Me. This is some classic stuff goin on and it’s what we live and breathe here in PNW. I don’t think GGD ever got the real attention and recognition for how talented and amazing they are and remain. This isn’t pop. If they’re pop then so is Springfield, Pearl Jam, Eddie Veder and Curt Cobain, although I’d love more Les Paul acoustic ballads from Johnny. Robbie is the energy on stage - he is always 17 jammin with his boys and surprised he gets to do what he loves - And GETS PAOD FOR IT!! 4🤟🏼
