I have always held early New Order in thehighest regard. I recently veiwed the Control and Documentary videos of Ian Curtis and Joy Division and I know "get it" While you certainly; have to give Hook, Morris and Sumner their due credit, Curtis was equally amazing. Add one part Jim Morrison, one part James Brown, one part Iggy Pop and you get something completely different and equally innovative and influential. This is probably the best produced live concert audio I have heard of the band and well worth the price.

This of course is my favorite Album they have EVER done. The way that Ian screams (sings) on this album was so unique at its time that to this day it is mind blowing.... The pain you feel is crazy..... I loved and will always have a place on my shelf for this album

Still was my first exposure to Joy Division and remaines for me the ultimate expression. As such it is tragic that the live track of Twenty Four Hours is still left off the CD of the original album. It is a staggering performance of perhaps their best song. That it is not on this set is inexcusable. The live performance on the extra CD is not nearly as powerful. Luckily my vinyl copy still sounds great and I can hear it there.

The Sound of Music and The Only Mistake really should have seen widely successful tracks. The founding fathers of alternative rock as we know it right here.
  • MISSING 24 HOURS LIVE AT BIRMINGHAM UNIVERSITY

Everyone knows how wonderful Joy Division and Still are, but this newly remastered version is missing the live version of 24 Hours also recorded at Birmingham University. It appears on the original vinyl and cassette releases of Still, but was left off the CD because the running time was too long for one disc. Unfortunately, the remaster does not correct this. It would have been nice to have the full version of the final Joy Division concert, but oh well, an extra 14 tracks is cool anyway.

This has the Live at High Hall, Birmingham University performance. Nothing else to be said.

Well, what can i say? this is Joy Division, the founders of post-punk and one of the greatest bands of the 1980s. I'm glad to have written this review and to also know that this album was released on my birthday!
