Never has an album been so diverse but absolutely amazing. One of the top 5 albums of all time. Anyone rating this below a 4 should just stop listening to music altogether

Rode my bicycle 28mi round trip to buy this album the day it came out when I was a kid. Still remember the smell when i slit the plastic cover open. As I look over to my closet, it still rests there with very few others that I saved. Man creates very few perfect moments in time, this was one of them.
  • Too poppy not punk

Title track is awesome but the rest of the album is largely filler and soft.
  • The sergeant peppers of its time.

The clash was a lot more than a punk rock band they were the best rock n roll band of their time. The effortless way they absorbed American music and reggae is brilliant. This band loved music. All music. The title of best punk band is for lesser bands. Like the Sex Pistols or the Ramones. The clash were the best rock n roll band of their time. Rip joe strummer. One of the great rock n rollers.

This is beating a dead horse at this point, but this is simply one of the most fantastic works of art to come from the music world. Everything on this album: the cover, the instruments, the production, and the lyrics, displays one of the greatest peaks in all of music and art in general. Regardless of what type of music one enjoys, there is something for everyone here. In my opinion, every song not only has its place, but is in a constant competition with every other song for the best songs on the album. Two different people could come out with two completely different lists of best songs and both would be right. In case this was too long: this album is an absolute masterpiece and a must listen for anyone seriously interested in music. Thanks for everything and Long live The Clash!

This will always be my favorite album. It represents energy, innovation, simplicity and daring like nothing else. Stylistically beautiful boasting the best and most representative album cover that a Rock band could produce. Musically impeccable, with near perfect lyrics addressing a wide range of social issues while covering so many styles with such tightness and engagement and yet a strange relaxing feeling. Conceptually perfect, with everything lining up behind and around it like few, if any, album had ever, has ever and most definitely will ever mimic. Maybe Sgt Peppers. Maybe. Still, I prefer London Calling....
