I think Shawn Colvin is more than a singer or writer, or radio pop celebrity, that last for 5 minutes. Shawn Colvin is a rare thing in a world of banal, and redundant songs, to match the popularity of the one that was a hit. Shawn Colvin is a one of a kind, Artist. I remember the year her song "Sunny Came Home" won best song and record at the Grammy's. Just before, I was looking at the nominees, and said if we were picking the true best it would be Shawn Colvin, but in commercial world I knew one f the flashier pop songs would win. Then "Sunny Came Home" won two of the top Grammys. I thought people get it, she is stunning. "All Fall Down" is just another beautifully crafted page in her book of unique and exquisite work. Another song you have to listen to over and over to get the meanings, and nuances, that one listen will never give you. "All Fall Down" is just classic Colvin, and her road of ever evolving and moving music that is too ephemeral to ever quite grasp in your hands or head. Shawn Colvin is always just few feet ahead of the rest of us. 'All Fall Down" is another timeless gem.
