John Leaventhal the genius producer / guitarist behind This album. He does such subtle things you only hear once then its off to the next hook or lick you only hear once . I think this one of the most brilliant works of musical art i have come across. I only wish there was more of Johns production out there ...

This has been one of my favorite albums for years.
  • Great album---too bad that she isn't better known!

Shawn Colvin is a really great artist. She may not be as mainstream as Sarah Mclachlan but she's just as strong of a lyricist and gives a great collection of songs here.

This is one of my favorite all time albums. There is no one who can even come close to Shawn. Her music is very magical and moving.

I had this album on cassette originally, and hadn't heard it for a few years when I downloaded it here. I didn't realize how much I had missed Shawn's voice and the clever songwriting. I remember initially I only really liked a few songs on it, but when one of them comes on when I'm listening to my ipod, I keep finding myself turning off the "shuffle" so I can hear the whole album.

As a roaring fire consumes the dry fields in the horizon, Colvins music brands your senses and takes you in and out of emotional states giving you perspectives on love and life. You can rock out, sing along or meditate with a nice glass of Rioja. Use this album to paint scenarios in your mind and delight yourself with the work of one of the best musicians the United States has to offer the world. You will treasure this album for years, I have, and it is still a good friends of mine. Peace. Juan Pablo Cardenas
  • Shawn's Best Work

I've been a fan of Shawn's since "Steady On" and was blown away by "Fat City", so I had high hopes for this CD. It totally delivers and is, in my opinion, the best work she's done. If you're a fan of her more eclectic work, you probably won't like this as well because it is a very commercial offering. "Sunny Came Home" is the standout, but there are other gems, including: "Get Out of This House" with its raw energy and the shuffling "Nothin on Me". Every iPod should have a little Shawn Colvin on it and the best place to start is this CD. It's awesome!

Strange at times, but mostly a folky feeling throughtout the album. Shawn has a nice voice, but I think she could do better.
