I can listen to this album all day and all night. JT's voice is so soothing, that it touches the heart and soul in so many ways. From the tremendous background vocals to the powerful saxophone on “Up from Your Life”, this album is one to treasure for years and years to come.
His greatest work

The songs that were written for this album are rare even for JT. Some of them have the power to express an entire life in a three minute span. I believe this to be JT's greatest work. I love hearing Shawn Colvin too.
This is much better than the itunes reviewer says it is

I think James Taylor's Hourglass album is a masterpiece. It is absolutely gorgeous and in my opinion-- one of his best.

Hey iTunes, the photo should be of just Hourglass. You have the compiled photo of "JT"/"Dad Loves His Work"/"Hourglass" on the side, with an edited version of the back cover photo from "JT" as the main photo.
The standouts are: Line Em Up, Enough To Be On Your Way, Little More Time With You, Another Day, Jump Up Behind Me.
By the way, James has always had great guests on his albums, including but not limited to: Paul and Linda McCartney, Carly Simon, Carole King, Stevie Wonder, Joni Mitchell, Linda Ronstadt, etc. Great talent goes great with great talent...
