This is nothing short of bliss. I was introduced right when Z was released, and I have become a little obsessed with MMJ ever since. This is a perfect summation of what makes them so enduring. Compare "The Way That He Sings" on this album with the one on "Okonokos" or the Terminal 5 track and tell me which one was recorded 9 years ago.
Phone Went West is just perfect in all ways.
Looking forward to the new record!
As always-must buy for MMJ fans

My hometown of Louisville hasn't been this proud since 1986. Nice to hear Johnny Quaid and Danny Cash again. Thanks guys.

great early look at mmj, the way that he sings is great, but i love the live versions of two of my favorite songs: the bear and xmasa curtain

Suspicious Minds is extraordinary. You get One Big Holiday and Phone Went West which are fan favorites. Heartbreakin Man is superb as well. Buy this!
I was there!

This set was opening for Ben Kweller. First question was: who is this awesome band? Next question: what is the deal with the hair? Next question: why are those kids behind us not standing up, but instead hissing at us for "blocking their view" from the balcony railing? Next question: who is this awesome band?
A glimpse of early My Morning Jacket

Back before Z and Evil Urges turned them into stars, My Morning Jacket were gaining their fanbase the old fasioned way: amazing live shows. This recording is an example of how they could blow minds back before radio stations picked up on them. This cover of Suspicious Minds is also a testament to how well Jim James can make classic rock and soul songs his own, as he often does at Bonnaroo festival. If you're looking into early My Morning Jacket, this is a good place to start.
