This is nothing short of bliss. I was introduced right when Z was released, and I have become a little obsessed with MMJ ever since. This is a perfect summation of what makes them so enduring. Compare "The Way That He Sings" on this album with the one on "Okonokos" or the Terminal 5 track and tell me which one was recorded 9 years ago.
Phone Went West is just perfect in all ways.
Looking forward to the new record!

Suspicious Minds is extraordinary. You get One Big Holiday and Phone Went West which are fan favorites. Heartbreakin Man is superb as well. Buy this!

Back before Z and Evil Urges turned them into stars, My Morning Jacket were gaining their fanbase the old fasioned way: amazing live shows. This recording is an example of how they could blow minds back before radio stations picked up on them. This cover of Suspicious Minds is also a testament to how well Jim James can make classic rock and soul songs his own, as he often does at Bonnaroo festival.
