I had been wondering for quite some time when Heartbreaker was gonna be released on I-Tunes. Then, one day, 4 months ago, I got tired of waiting, and managed to get my hands on an copy on the album. Me and my greeeeat timing, right?
Even though Ms. Dolly got a lot of flack from her country fans who thought she was going the way of pop and abandoning her roots with the release of this album in the late 70's, I think this album blends a perfect hybrid of country and pop charms.
"Baby, I'm Burnin'": WHO DOESN'T love this song?? This song is 2 and a half minutes of pure disco heaven, and I wasn't even alive then!
"The Man" is a beautiful nod to her father; the title track is just beautiful; "Sure Thing" is the perfect "Girl's Nite Out" song.
It's impossible to pick ONE song from here, and if you love just one track on this album, you may find that the rich singing by Dolly and the utterly delicious tracks will hook you and make you want the ENTIRE album, which is a grand investment indeed!
