I've been a long time fan of Keb as far back as when he was playing small venues with hard driving blues. Always saw him as heir apparent to Taj Mahal. But this album is very low on that scale, relying on pop melodies and "smooth" rhythms. He is still a phenomenal guitarist, just a little less earthy. Hope he returns to the blues.

Went to see him live yesterday on the day this album dropped. It was just him and a drummer. Amazing when a performer's songs can be stripped down to their bare elements and still sound great. Listening to the full-band versions now and they are top notch!
