Lots to like here...didn't like his last one 6 years ago but this is inspired songwriting and craftsmanship. The song "Haunted" on here is simply a stunner. Put on the headphones and rawk out with a 90's master who just put out his best record in a long time.

It's been so long since the early 90's that I think I lost my melodic / Byrds / clangy guitar rock ears. It took 10x through but can vouch this is vintage Sweet. He dug deep and unequivocally re-acclimated with his roots (similar to Evan Dando's "Lemonheads" release). Time travel is bliss.

Don't care for Pretty Please. The rest of the album is very good. Favorites are Bitter Sweet and Come Correct.

Love Sweet, but wondered if a new collection of songs from him would sound, well, tired. Sampled the first 10 songs, and each one blew me away...don't even have to listen to the last 7 (which I'm sure as just as good) to click on the BUY button. Matthew Sweet continues to carry the power pop torch forward.

Matthew Sweet makes great rock music, this is not a comeback as he's been making great records for decades. But if you discovered him when he made Girlfriend in the early 90's then this is a must hear. Trick of the Light sounds like it could have been on that record. All killer with no filler here. This one will go down as one of his finest efforts, great songwriting, meticulous production and oh that signature guitar!!! A joy to listen to from start to finish, this was an extremely pleasant surprise

Been a fan since the beginning. He played all the instruments on Girlfriend. Saw him in New Orleans years ago. Sensitive and he can rock. Do yourself a favor- buy this album and the rest of them.

This song sounds like something from Altered Beast. Reminds me of "Come to California".
