Let me just start by saying Bowling For Soup is my all-time favorite band, and I have always loved their music videos and hilarious rock songs. This song is way more serious than anything they have written. Period.
When I first heard the song, I didn't really like it. I figured I would like it after listening to it a few times, it would grow on me. It didn't.
Then I saw the fantastic music video. It's heartfelt, sincere and made me fall in love with BFS all over agian.
By the way, my favorite thing about this video is Jaret's nails. Watch/buy the vid and check them out!

As much as I love this music video it makes me want to cry... To see Jaret without a smile on his face is simply not right... what happened to the happy songs that Bowling For Soup is so well known for? I do love this video, but Im really waiting for a next, happier one...

ive only heard one song from them (this one) and i thought it was great! tells about what him and his father have been thru during his life, on and off, showing what his dad did, and what he did. then at the end, like almost all good movies (or music v's), a suprise.

its a sad story that can touch pepole that may have that probelm and still connet to the oues that don,t its tells a good story(whitch you have to find in classic songs like sue by jouny cash)but its still a great song five star*****
Though this song is sentimental, BFS still rock out on it- excellent!!

Unbiased statement that this is there best video; I've seen all of them. Better than 1985, High School, Punk Rock 101, etc. The visual and the song combine perfectly to form a touching video. I recommend this video above all their others. They rock great on the chorus.

Bowling For Soup are the kings of comedy-punk. They've appeared (or just sang) in movies, including but not limited to "Jimmy Neutron", "Freaky Friday", "Cursed", etc. Most of those songs have just been fun, and not serious (not sure about the song in "Cursed" however). But, when a band like this comes out with a serious song, they need a serious video to go along with it. So who do you hire to star in it? Lee Majors. Yep. According to some reports, this is the highest costing music video of all time (thanks for being greedy Lee.)
The whole video deals with a son drifting away from his father (Jared plays the son, with random people playing him at various stages in life, Lee Majors as the father throught), and the son trying to reconnect, but the father's heart has harderned. It's actually an all too true story. The whole video deals with this, with some momentary rocking out by the whole band.
The video is well done. Definintaly different for this band. Lee does a good job of acting, but damn, did he cost a lot. My only worry (which seems to be coming a reality) is that this won't get any airplay and the video will go to waste. Hopefully FUSE or VH1 or MTV will grab a hold of it and eat it up: it's just waiting for it.

This video i thought when i first saw it was different from the other bowling for soup videos,but after i saw it i felt like crying. it was one of the best serious music videos i've seen. Also it's easy to relate to if have any problems going on.Thank you Bowling for Soup. Very good video
