Lifelong fan of the band from the first album on. Fans are fickle. There is no best or worst Van Halen album. Every album was a different document of what Ed was doing at the time. This album was perhaps the most daring, interesting exploration in the bands catalog. Gary Cherone’s a great singer. Most people knew Extreme’s hit “More than words” but couldn’t tell you who the members were. Gary was Gary on this one. We’ll never know what could’ve been, but no doubt; this is a Van Halen album and it should be considered and enjoyed as much as the rest as a unique individual document of the band’s work.

Everyone says are you Sammy or Dave Van Halen? This album is driven by the big 3, Mike, Alex, and sir Edward. While I am a DLR fan this is still some great music by the 3 masters. Gary has good pipes and if you watch him with VH live he could handle all three eras. So enjoy some great music from the masters .

This album gets a lot of crap but it’s great this is Van Halen at its best the instrumentation is amazing and the lyrics are way better than Other Van Halen albums where it’s just about partying and girls this one actually makes you think and self reflect on yourself

When I first heard fire in the hole I couldn’t get it out of my head it was catchy and sounded great like all the other songs. Eddie Van Halen is great as always and Gary Cherone sounds great I really think this is a awesome album.

It’s also still got the guitar playing genius of the late great Eddie Van Halen which elevates it to as good as most other bands best work. Highlights are Without You, One I Want and Fire In The Hole. Definitely not as bad as the press it got. Hopefully people are rediscovering VH3 now. RIP EVH

I bought it when it first came out. I think its great with awesome tunes, and musicianship. Its not balance, its not 1984 but its not supposed to be. Give it a chance.
