I bought "Bright Winter Star" off this album on a whim and quite enjoyed it. Gradually, over time, I downloaded song after song until I had finally paid more than I might have if I had bought the entire album right off. I have not been disappointed by any of these tracks. Janis is only a recent discovery for me. He is just "what the doctor ordered" as far as I'm concerned: presenting graceful, peaceful, and beautiful musical arrangements. I am a big Kevin Kern/Lorie Line/George Winston fan as well, and in my opinion, Janis holds his own quite nicely against these other fine musicians. For his part, Janis adds sweeping and gentle melodies on a somewhat grander scale. Try, for example, "Heaven's Wonders...". You may end up, like me, sampling and sampling again--until you end up with the entire album after all. :-)

A relaxing yet fairly predictable album from song to song. What you hear on your 30 second sample is exactly what you get nothing less nothing more. Should you like George Winston you will like this album. Try Kevin Kern, Secret Garden, or Lori Line for beautiful music with much more depth.
