I have not listened to this album for a long time. Thirty years ago I was listening to the vinyl record and my parents were young. She was one of the first Christian artists I ever heard and I was just moved to tears listening to In a While again. Amy will forever be a part of my childhood and walk with Christ.
Timeless!!

I recently had a talk with my youngest children about the stresses of being a teen. I told them about the issues I had in the mid-70's & early 80's; being a young Christian. And I told them about how beautifully Amy Grant's lyrics (to say nothing of her delivery) encapsulated the emotions and choices of that period in my life. So, I had to go in the vault of lost music, pull out the old cassettes, convert them and put them on the PC so they could hear "Straight Ahead" and "Never Alone" for themselves. But I couldn't find "Age to Age". So here I am on iTunes. I do believe I'm gonna have a blast on the way home from work today, just reminiscing.
Stellar!!!

Years ago when I began listening and purchasing christian music, I heard this song "El Shaddai," on the radio. I fell in love with it and learned who the artist is. Her name is Amy Grant! I heard other songs on the radio by her and decided to purchase the "Age to Age" album. I listened to side 1 and side 2 of the entire album. I consider this album her masterpiece! I have purchased her previous albums, which includes her first, self titled,"Amy Grant." I listened to how her songs and voice matured through the years. Her early works were a joy and fun to listen to. Age to Age is by far her best achievement. Songs like, "I Love a Lonely Day," "Sing Your Praise to the Lord," and "Don't Run Away," are orchestrated very well with her vocal accompanyments and well as the musical instruments. This is one Album/CD worth purchasing. You will not be disappointed!
A classic!

These sounds are permanently etched in my mind from my childhood, and the moods are still there too. A lifetime of learning also brings me back full-circle to the lyrics of El. Rich Mullins wrote at least one of these songs, and I can not even look at the song title without thinking of him. This is truly a gem for anyone who was there when the vinyl was turning.
