A masterpiece. One of the best headphone listens since Dark Side of the Moon.

sometimes something great happens to me, and it comes at me from some new direction, or it carries something with it so unexpected, that it changes greatness. in this case, greatness is calm and quiet, direct and unassuming. it is vulnerable, fragile, and personal.

I heard one of his songs about a month ago and now I listen to this every day, one my favorite all time albums... something I could have so easily missed out on. M. Ward will never be a Bob Dylan, but he ought to be.
  • not bad, kind of bland...

i was a bit dissapointed with this album, doesn't have anything that sounds wholly original to me.

    M. Ward is astoundingly good, and if he is touring anywhere near you, you should go. This album is a wonderful place to begin experiencing M. Ward, if you haven't heard of him. This album crackles and flows with love and simple longings. The trifecta of Sad, Sad Song/Undertaker/Duet for Guitars, No. 3 seals the deal for me. At 9.99 you really have no excuse not to splurge on this melancholy masterpiece.

I just happened to catch m. ward on Conan and was stunned at how good they sounded. They were terrific. I just purchased all of their albums and have not been able to turn it off for hours! If you like My Morning Jacket you will love this band.
