Im not sure how everybody else feels about this type of music when it comes to working out, but these beats and sounds get me pumped up for lifting weights. I don't know why but it does. I can also chill and listen to it. I used to be into alternative rock, emo, post-hardcore, but now it seems like that generation of music is all but dead now. I've transitioned to trance/electronica/dance. I'm indifferent about most popular music now since everything is starting to sound the same. I might be calling the kettle black here since dance is usually the same beat over and over again but this is refreshing to me and isn't getting old any time soon.. I hope.

So I'm new to Anjunadeep and only been listening to house music for a couple of years now (my buddy got me into it with a Kaskade show in San Diego and I've been hooked ever since). He told me that Anjunadeep was a good place to get started for Progressive house so I bought a CD after listening to the promos. I bought 04 cause I don't like starting from behind when it comes to what's hot. I know I know. I also started with this one cause I heard it was amazing, and I was not deceived. This collection is absolutely incredible. I highly recommend it to anyone who even remotely enjoys house and dance music. However, if you're one of the people that mistakes heavy drop hungry with love of EDM music, you should look elsewhere. Not to say that there aren't some incredible drops and build ups in here, I just would say it's not the focus, and that's what alot of unsuspecting EDM listeners might expect.
The textures are both saturated and smooth and the sweeping, surging synths are angelic. There's little to dislike about this album and if you, like me, are relatively new to the genre then this is a perfect foundation from which to build your appreciation and knowledge of progressive house. The overall mood of this is expertly executed.
buy it. However, I recommend getting a hard copy if you can. The CDs and the case are a really nice design worth paying a few extra bucks for. I personally prefer having the CD to an mp3 or mp4 collection. If only for the reason that it helps me to listen through the whole CD in one critical listen, knowing that I have the physical, prepared package. There's something to be said for that. Whatever I'm weird.
Good, but

I like vol. 3 better. Volume 3 was magical to me like Tiesto's In Search of Sunrise vol 4 Latin America. Still cool cd tho and I give 4/5.
DEEPLY Beautiful! Incredible album.

What else can one expect from any of Above & Beyond's labels but pure perfection? This is my favorite Anjunadeep since 01. It feels a little bit funkier (has more groove to it) to me. Haha. That's a good thing! I love how the use of vocals is pretty coherent among all the tracks. They're mostly fragmented splices and rhythmic accentuations. However, they're complement the music perfectly. The one thing that stands out to me is the bass. Beautiful, rhythmic, powerful basslines throughout the whole album. But, my review is inadequate. Check out the samples… I'm presuming that if you're into this music. It's a slightly different taste than what most people are into… and certainly a foreign sound to those who are not Electronic Dance Music fans (you know you're one of them if that phrase means nothing to you, but "techno" as a broad descriptor does…). :) Enjoy the album!
Great!

it beats every Anjunadeep album in the series for me. It also beats every release this year so far that I have bought. I have a feeling it'll probably keep that place in my music collection for awhile. I'm disappointed they do not have the samplers out yet. Time for beatport I guess. But thats's beside the point. This album is definitely worth every penny that you pay. It is no less than outstanding.
No Cassette?!?!?!

That's my only problem with this album, why no Michael Cassette? other than that Andrew Bayer, Oliver Smith, and Suspect 44 are amazing and can't forget Jaytech
Great Album!

First Anjunadeep album to cop and Won't be the last. The Anjuna family has been keeping me hooked on EDM. If your seeking an album that puts you in a combination of chillaxation and feet movin' I highly recommend this album. You will NOT be dissappointed.
Enjoy!
