For those who remember Ibiza as it was

This is my second copy after losing the first to an hddk error. If anyone out there had been to Ibiza in the late 90's, early 2K's, Jaytech captures the moment and the feeling perfectly. Before all the english soccer crazies took over, before the jersey shore cast learned their first fist pump, before the island became too commercial (although it was well headed that way). You could walk home from a late nightclub without worrying about fights and muggings, see the sunrise, hear songs like these leaking out from a nearby party and just dance on the beach by yourself or with friends (or meet a new friend for the weekend). It was the vibe of the island back then. 'Everything is OK' motivates and makes me wish for better days ahead.

Seriously. It is. This album really does make everything OK. More specifically, "Pepe's Garden" is divine.
A Rare Find!

On rare occassions we find complete albums and this is truly one for the ages. AKA James Cayzer has showcased himself very well. 'Nighthawk' starts the dream trip in first class. 'Pepe's Garden' is clarification that your moving in the right direction. 'Gray Horizon' w/ Melody Gough at the vocal wheel will blow your mind, and you may even have to doubleback for more of her voice. From 'Groove Nova' through to 'Deadlock' the ride will be a wonderful trip indeed, 'Drive' will help you remember that you have come a long way and it was worth the trip every step. And remember boys & girls: Whatever Above & Beyond (A&B) touches turns to gold!
my favorite!

This album is wonderful. Very original, great to listen to on the go. Best songs are Gray Horizon, Natsukashi, and Drive.
Brilliant!

I am an indoor cycling instructor, and I have been a huge fan of Jaytech for awhile. I have been a big fan of his subtle use of edited vocal samples, like in Headcase, his mix of Surrender, and Spacelift. It is the perfect music for indoor cycling. But nothing prepared me for his first real vocal track on Everything is OK, "Gray Horizon." It's beautiful and haunting. Anyone that's a fan of vocal trance MUST buy this song. I can't stop listening to it. "Drive" is a close second. The whole album is good, worth every penny. I am so excited to see what else he mixes or comes out with on his own. It's truly inspired artistry.
Rising Star

Jaytech, or as he refers to himself as 'Jimbo' is certainly a rising star in the progressive electronica arena. His personality is best described as being laid back and contemplative, and it's the impression I got upon spending time with him. It certainly reflects in his full-length debut album, Everything is OK. As good as this album is, his remixes, often released by Above & Beyond's label have been stellar, although his debut album--as a cohesive whole--isn't as groundbreaking as a lot of people have mentioned. It could be my personal bias, but I'm just thinking if he has pioneered a new sound, which everyone else would want to emulate. This album is good, I'll honestly admit that. But it didn't have that groovey element like with his previous tracks / remixes (not on this album) like Blue Fire or Lost Childhood (a remix he did for T.O.N.). Also, it doesn't have much versitility. But then again, it's progressive house / electro. Is it? However, his voice is strong with his fans--and with me. Cheers to Jaytech!

I bought this album after listening to the Above & Beyond podcast preview. Jaytech did an excellent job, and I've been listening to Everything Is OK almost constantly since I bought it.
I'm not sure whether it's better described as house or trance - it seems more like trance to me. The album flows well from track to track, and posesses a strong structure. (Except for the Groove Nova - Vela - Special X group...they never seem to quite fit...) The tracks are all very laid back, calming, and down-tempo - most of the tracks are 126 BPM or less, and Nighthawk is around 104 - great for a night-time playlist. One downside: they're all too short! Another minute or two on each would bring an extra star on my rating.
On an individual level, Highway Rockers is definitely the best, followed closely by Natsukashi (so happy!) If you can only buy one song off the album, make it one of those. Drive is the better of the two vocal tracks; Gray Horizon suffers from the out-of-place feeling of the echo effect. Nighthawk and Drive make excellent bookends for this album. Pyramid and Solero are also good tracks.
Finally its Here!

I first heard Jaytech on Anjunabeats Vol. 5 and from then on i have been a fan. This album shows the versatility and talent that possesed by James Cayzer, and definitely lives up to the hype that has been built up by Above & Beyond. Everything he produces just sounds fresh and inventive, from the lead melodies to basslines, and now with Gray Horizon he's produced his first? vocal track(and a nice one at that). His flexible style is very apparent throughout the album as there are songs that can fit into every sub genre of edm. My personal favorites were the sizzling "groove nova", "pyramid", "gray horizon", and "nighthawk". Nice Work!
Good album, but not revolutionary, as some have suggested

As much as I like Above and Beyond, they certainly did a great salesjob on this album. The songs are good, some better than others (Nighthawk, pepe's garden, gray horizon, groove nova, vela and drive being standouts), but the album as a whole is merely very good, not excellent. Still highly suggested, but not ground breaking as Chicane's Far from the maddening crowds or Behind the Sun. Speaking of Chicane, it is a shame he has not released anything in a while (at least full length) and he still sounds as fresh as he did back in the day. Jaytech is definitely on the right track and Above and Beyond are still sensational.
