Salt is a good film full of suspense, which I liked. The incredible as the Bad Guy in the movie also is the good guy, as is the case with Angelina Jolie in the movie. But I'm not here to do a review of the film, but yes, it's score. Well, James Newton Howard has enchanted me with many Scores as 'Defiance', 'The Tourist', 'The Dark Knight' ..., and this was one of the Scores that really showed all the talent of Howard to create the music for the film. Actually, Howard is perfect. I always thought he was good only when Hans Zimmer is helping him. But I was wrong. Congratulations!

Haven't seen the movie yet, but James Newton Howard is a name constantly associated with quality soundtrack scores. Not afraid to marry contemporary beats and synthesizers to lush orchestra pieces, Howard delivers distinct scores that stand on their own (The Dark Knight, Waterworld, The Postman and Wyatt Earp are just a few standouts). Salt's score is a refreshing change up from the often forgettable scores that rely on once again ripping off Hans Zimmer or clutters of cues patched together to simply follow the beats of a scene, and not really add anything on it's own. It's a good listen that occasionally plays like an updated Fugitive score with some intense thriller themes, but also features unique action music (sounding a tad influenced by some of Danny Elfman's more epic gothic stuff) like "Go Get 'Em" and gently affecting tragic strings of "Destiny". A real thumbs up (although the best score you'll here from this past summer is the masterpiece that is Inception).

This soundtrack is absolutely amazing. EAch track is wonderful, and packed with excitement. I bought it as soon as I got back home from the movie. I loved the movie, which was terrific, and the soundtrack is great. No, not great. It's A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!

Hints of sounds from the past like The Fugetive, Waterworld and Duplicity- some great synth work woven in to this eclectic, edgy and suspenseful score. The thunderous pounding percussion and the ominous horns blaring get the blood flowing with pure adrenaline. A few highlights but certainly no stretch for James. Bottom line, a perfect score for the film but to the loyal listener, this one doesn't hold a lot of surprises.
Destiny stands out along with Garroted and Go Get Em.

I got to see an Advanced Screening of this movie, and it was one of the best action movies I've seen in a long time! The Score for the movie was very well-done and deserves a few praises at least! Great Score and Great Movie with a Kick-Butt Actress!
