The arrangements are wonderful, and relaxing. The only issue I have is the quality of the Mics they used to record this album seemed to not be able to handle high dynamics, because there is obvious clipping and distortion. When Masashi plays fortissimo, or fortzando there is distortion in the recording. The mics were either not good enough or the placement was wrong. Cannot fix the recording unfortunately, just heads up on the next album have the sound engineer test your levels at your loudest, and have them listen through headphones to monitor clipping.

These piano adaptations are stunning. Entire album is flawless!

I did not care for the Nautilus tracks, but the rest are very good. I really enjoyed the album and still listen to it even now.

What happened to Nobuo Uematsu? C'mon! This game's soundtrack it terrible. Final Fantasy soundtracks used to be amazing.

Final Fantasy XIII is the first Final Fantasy game I have played and I only warmed up to it after a while. Part of the reason is definitely because of the incredible music score. It has remained my favorite soundtrack for quite some time now. I have been inspired to learn and play the beautiful melodies created by Masashi Hamauzu and after listening to just the previews of this album, I know desire to learn these renditions as well. While I would have definitely added more songs to this album, the selections he chose are spectacular nonetheless. Anyone who loves piano, this is for you.

All of these piano pieces are beautiful & unique in their own unique ways. Whole album is considered a masterpiece & the future of Final Fantasy!! Well Done Masashi Hamauzu

Although there are some disappointing exclusions such as Saber's Fate and Dust to Dust, the package as a whole is quite magical. It's funny how Sulyya Springs, one of my least favorite tracks on the OST, turned out to be one of my favorites on this collection. The length of the album is a bit disappointing also, but with the treatment that FFXIII's score has been receiving lately(multiple complete OST versions and vinyl records released to date), it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if they released a second Piano Collections for FFXIII. Overall, I'd give the album an 4 out of 5. While it is missing a few key tracks that were expected to make it on the list, and despite the fact that its one of the shortest Piano Collections to date, its still a fantastic package thats filled with some really amazing pieces. Any fan of piano arrangements should definitely not miss it.

Masashi Hamauzu has done it again with this new album, Piano Collections FINAL FANTASY XIII. This album is a perfect example of why Final Fantasy XIII's music is so popular- the songs are amazing. No matter which instrument the melodies are played on, the music is breathtaking. I recommend this album to all FF XIII fans, or just fans of awe-inspiring music in general. All the songs are excellent, as I cannot pick a single favorite! So please, listen and enjoy.
