I'm defiantly glad the Dio era Black Sabbath left us with something at the last days of Ronnies monumental life. This is one of my fav group of recordings. Really together with the old vib in new form. The Geezer/ Iommi team is unmistakable added with Ronnies' classic vocal style and presence makes the Devil You May Know an essential.

They're pushing the whole Devil thing to the point of satire. The songs trudge slowly as if heading towards the kind of war that the Black Sabbath Dio Years waged with every track. Also, I think Mob Rules would've been a far better title, not only because Mob had the same exact line-up, sans Bill Ward, it just sounds better. Heaven & Hell is a lame name, and this album is dull.

When this record came out in 2009 it was the coolest heavy rock record that I had heard in decades. I have always loved Sabbath fronted by the great Ronnie James Dio and wished that they had made more records during their great '80's incarnation...and while the 1995 reunion record "Dehumanizer" was good, this set, in my opinion, has stronger material and is better produced as well. Although "The Devil You Know" is definitely a sludgier record than "Heaven and Hell" or "The Mob Rules", it is a fine return to form for the men who crafted those classics. It is also a high point in both Dio's career and in Sabbath's legacy.

This review has been a long time coming, and we have lost Mr. Ronnie James Dio since. This album is fantastic. Great to see this lineup together and glad they put this album out. 13 black sabbath with ozzy was nominated for a grammy this year and lost to a led zeppelins live album of old aterial! A total ripoff.

Probably one of the best metal records i have ever heard and i grew up with a dad who listen to it all and i listen to nothing but metal mostly. Dio was an inspiration to me and should be to all metal singers. Awesome album!!
