She's still a good lyricist, but her music is enough to put you to sleep. Its been over 5 years and there's no sign of another album. I hope she didn't stop making music because of this album. She just needs to write better melodies and have an edgier sound. When given the right material, Tracy Chapman is a fantastic artist.

I've been searching for new music lately and so very disappointed with what the music industry is putting out right now, I started looking for artists I've admired in the past and came upon this 2008 album, it is such a joy to listen to, her brilliant voice and story telling ways delight my ears. Her talent shines brightly through it all, I'm so happy where she is with her music, this will be my newly discovered treasure to play while I paint as 2013 winds down. Just wished I would have found it sooner.
So talented, so underrated

Tracy please do a US tour, it's been so long and we miss you. This album had me hooked the first time I heard the sample of "I sing for you". Your voice is like a lullaby. Please include Denver in your plans.

Alnum is honest and really pleasant to listen to. So are Tracy's voice and lyrics
Pleasant but unremarkable

The title about describes it...a capable, pleasant album from someone with a nice voice. A little slow and dull for my tastes.
One of Tracy's best!

This is one of Tracy Chapman's best albums overall. You can tell how much her voice has matured from her debut twenty years prior, but her guitar licks are still spectacular. "Sing for You", my favorite on here, is so gorgeous all-around. In fact, every song on here is amazing and shows that Tracy's still got it! Love her!

She has a great voice. I can listen to Tracy's music over and over. She calms me and takes me into her songs. She is a wonderful singer and song writer. Thank you and keep up the great work.
Her best in a long time!

I love it, a way more laid-back and playful Tracy Chapman. I heard I Did it All on the radio and bought the whole album and am glad I did.
What happened to Tracy Chapman?

Her debut album was a masterpiece, but nothing has come close ever since. And this album, Our Bright Future, is just plain drab. Boring and drab. There's no hooks, no choruses, nothing catchy. Such a shame because she is capable of Fast Car! :(
