Take 6, since I've been a kid, was one of my all time favs, from Spread Love to I-Love-U, to the Christmas album..... everything they embodied completely enveloped my soul. This CD is AWESOME, signature Take 6. Very minimal music, just voices.... I 've fallen in love again with that in which I knew first.... Take 6.
Style, skill, entertainment value

This album retains the best that Take 6 offers, along with the bit of humor and entertainment value.
In terms of musical mastery and quality, this album is tops. It feels less commercial than some previous albums of theirs.
If you like the old Take 6, you should really like this. It certainly doesn't hurt to have such great guest performers too!
THERE ARE ABSOLUTELY NO WORDS TO DESCRIBE THIS CD!

When I heard this wonderful rendering from one of the most prolific acapella groups...Oh My Goodness!. The vocal arrangements set this group apart from the rest. I love the rendition of "Someone to Watch Over Me", and hearing Roy Hargrove accompanying the group was mesmorizing. This CD is not getting the play it deserves. Grammy time that's all I got to say! If you love jazz, then you can not sleep on this CD.
I love these guys!

I've loved these guys since their 1st album. My favorite song on here is "Shall We Gather At The River." I also like how they remade the Grace song. I first heard it on Q's Jook Joint. Great album!
Everything You Expect From The Vocal Masters

This album has all the smooth rich precise jazz vocal harmonies that you would expect from Take 6 and much much more. I enjoyed every second of every song. If this is the only album that you have heard from Take 6 it will definately get you back to the store to buy more. "The Standard" is way way above standard!

Take 6 has conquered nations and vanquished foes of all shapes and sizes. They have ridden the wings of dragons and defeated countless manifestations of evil with their perfect harmonies.

I shed a single tear when listening to this album for the first time...for I knew I would never be the same again. I am now a man.
Good stewards of God given talent!!!

Excellent Music - just saw them live in Annapolis Maryland and I must say they're worth the price of admission - if you can't see them live however - buy their music - it's the next best thing!
My favorite genre and favorite musical artists combined!!

I had the opportunity to attend the cd release concert for this album and I must say that Take 6 is a group full of TRUE musicians. Their skills are unbelievable and their musical creativity is definitely portrayed in this new album. If you're just coming up on the Take 6 scene, I definitely recommend you to take a look at some of their previous albums as well. I am especially a fan of track 8 where ella's track was mixed seamlessly with the vocals of Take 6. I can honestly say that I thoroughly enjoyed listening to each track on this new cd.
once again the brothers put it down

Take 6's talent is unmatched. So smooth.
Nice to see the collabs with some of the classic veterans, too - 4 stars for the collabs.
I wish there were some more contemporary stuff here, but it's good knowing the guys are still here making quality art.
If I ever get to see these guys live I'ma go see 'em.
