Take 6 is phenomenal but this mix/remastering sounds completely different from the original—honestly sometimes it does not sound great. You can tell the engineer added a lot of unnecessary compression and sometimes the overall mix doesn’t work, especially when there is a soloist—they are too loud and centered and it loses the overall blend as an ensemble. There’s also some weird random panning effect that is completely random in “Spread Love” just from listening to the 1:30 sample (around 0:54). I strongly prefer the original mix. On the plus side, you can hear all of the individual harmonies a lot better and the complexities of their vocal arrangements too, because all the reverb has been stripped away, so they sound closer to you—that is really cool.
