A lot of people can make wonderful music, but there are far fewer that were put on this earth to make perfect music. Ray Charles is just amazing. I started playing classical guitar when I was six-years-old and along with classical music, I listen to a lot of technical metal. My point is, this isn't the type of music that I usually listen to. However... after listening to this album a lot, I can't help but wonder who COULDN'T love this album. I miss the days when we had such high-caliber musicians like Ray Charles putting out new material. This is absolutely ESSENTIAL listening. Buy it. NOW!

Some of the greatest music ever recorded is included here. This is only a small sampling of Ray's genius, but it's an essential compilation nonetheless. The sly grove on Doc Pomus' Lonely Avenue and the crack in Ray's voice on the brilliant What Would I Do are worth five stars by themselves. Itunes has to come up with a few more stars for this one.
  • Just amazing.

At thirty years of age, I am ashamed to say that this is the first Ray album I purchase. Jam, after jam, after jam, they just keep on comin'. If you need a starters kit of Rays hits THIS is it... enjoy.
