I first heard Matt song on a short-lived tv series called Kyle XY many years ago. I bought the song because it made me cry. I’ve continued to buy Matt’s music for years. I’m always pleasantly surprised by how beautiful each and every song he does this. I’m a huge fan.

I am going to finish this review at another time but I need to put my thoughts out there now. This is an incredible album. I don't like rap usually but the few songs that have that, are so powerful. They talk about topics that we are otherwise scared to discuss but we shouldn't be. His voice is beautiful and really sends all his messages across. It makes me feel empowered and like we can all work through the problems of the world. I think it is an amazing album and he really deserves to be more famous than he is. This is incredible music and I think everyone should give him a real chance to show how talented he is.

First of all, I fell in love with Mat Kearney after listening to Ships in the Night, but the honesty and thoughtfulness of this guy's earlier music is just so freakin awesome. All the lyrics like "these scars upon my sleeve" from In the Middle, being used to describe a broken heart are just so carefully crafted. Truly one of my all time favorite albums.

I budget $15 a month for iTunes. In combination with Pandora I love finding hidden gems in the vast library that is iTunes. This is the first album I have ever purchased. Before buying I listened to every preview and didn't hear a bad song. I wasn't disappointed after purchasing the entire album. Very real lyrics. Perhaps it's my listening to talk radio is why I've never heard of Kearney, but I'm sold. This album is truly the complete package. Thanks
