It's modern classic. I love the soundtrack as well as the movie. The trouble is the movie is not in the store.
Incomplete, but masterful!

Perhaps Ennio Morricone's best work. A moving story, in which was all explained from the perspective of 1900's friend Max Tooney. Listening to the composition of the tracks, in the motion picture, they all compliment each other brilliantly. There is one problem that I have with the soundtrack. At least in the American version, there are a few songs from the movie that I can not find here in the collection. One of my favorites that was not included, was a number called "The Goodbye Between Nineteen Hundred and Max". Though this was not Morricone's fault at all. The soundtrack itself, is definitely worth buying, as is the movie!

what a magnificent soundtrack.... full of the life and times................. of a man.................... who truly knew who he was............... and where he belonged in the world.
Even when it seemed like he had no place in it.
I will always remember when my mom brought this movie home and said " I saw this, and thought it looked interesting."
And I said, "leave me alone...... it sounds lame."
But Then Upon Further review after the fam had viewed it...i gave it a peek.
and i fell in luv with the whole lot of it.
especially " Nocturne with no moon "
I pity anyone who has never truly seen this movie, or heard its soundtrack.
this is a great buy here. but u really need 2 see the movie 1st , 2 truly appreciate it.
The Crisis

The Crisis is a very interesting piece of music. At first the listener is appalled at the seemingly "bad" note that occurs in every bar. It's this bad note, worked into this beautiful tune, that actually tells a story. You have to look past that note in order to hear the song underneath. But the flaw is very intentional, and the piece wouldn't be the same without it.
