Why both this incredible film and even more amazing soundtrack are not more celebrated is absolutely beyond me. Sergio Sollima's western - known here as "The Big Gundown" - is a Lee Van cleef tour-de-force and a superb entry in the film genre. Morricone's score is nothing short of astounding - as rousing and innovative as anything he did for Leone. NOT TO BE MISSED!
