A Resurrection

I randomly decided to give it a listen after over a decade of not caring. This might be my favorite album of theirs...it's that great. I fell in love with their music from Waking the Fallen through Nightmare. The loss of The Rev I imagine must have altered their path tremendously. Hail to the King is where I lost all interest in their music. It sounded like rehashed 90's rock/metal. The Stage was better. But this album is pure GENIUS. I am genuinely shocked how much I love this album. It provokes emotion in a way that most music can't fathom.
Now, I know this might sound crazy..

Took a minute to adjust to the changes but seriously it’s still A7X at heart and it’s a good album. (O)rdinary really grew on me too. Just went to 2 of the concerts their latest tour and it was amazing
Not Butt Rock

So I love early A7X. However, I also love Prog metal. If you do not like prog rock/metal you won’t like this album. If you are looking for radio friendly rock, this is not for you. But. if you have an ear for prog and appreciate music experimentation you will love this album. I was seriously emotional the first listen. I listened 2 times on YouTube and then decided to purchase. I love it.
New era of a7x?

I’m all for bands experimenting with their albums and music and that is what this album is the feeling you get off of this album is amazing each song has its own unique feeling to it and I’m all for it if they tend to release more music like this I would not mind at all if I had to describe this album in one word it would be theatrical
Amazing

Awful Album

I love A7X and I understand they like to try stuff. But the core of their music has always been complicated riffs and skillful playing. This album is obnoxious and in the wrong direction.
IMO A7X needs to go back to making music like their Nightmare Album and self titled album. The Stage is a good album, but even it begins straying into this garbage they are making now. They need to back to their heavy metal roots and focus more on a metal sound. Not this hybrid electronic repetitive minimal effort garbage that Life Is But A Dream album is.
If this is the future of this band, then they band is gonna be done. Fan base is already bleeding.
Fantastic

Nothing here to rock out too

Experiment failed. Nothing here that approaches past successes. Not worth your time or money, wake me up when the band comes back.
