Reviews

  • Not as good as the older albums, IMO

I agree with Indigo1966. I've been a David Sancious listener since the 70's. Tracks 5, 6 and 8 are decent, but the rest didn't really interest me. Not bad, just not up to the level of innovation and exploration I remember from albums in the past. If you are going to add some Sancious to the iTunes store, how about his wonderful album "The Bridge" from 1981. Used to have it on vinyl and would love to have a digital version!
  • Bring back the Sancious from the 70’s...

I’ve been a fan of Sancious’ music for many years. This album has a few nice moments with track 8 being the best of the bunch. It reminds me a bit of Allan Holdsworth’s music. Overall I found the album to be uneven and just ok. I could live without the vocal tracks. The instrumental tracks are better but there are only two or three songs that really got to me. This album is a far cry from his earlier recordings, my favorites being “Just As I Thought” and “Dance of the Age of Enlightenment”. I wish Sancious would record music on that same level again.
