Sometimes great music isn't truly appreciated until long after it is released. Having been a fan of Berlin with their earlier albums: Pleasure Victim and Love Life, I was not taken in by this album at the time. I think I was too into the synth/punk sounds of the time. I repent! Listening to it now, I'm absolutely blown away by it! All of the songs are first rate and stand the test of time. In fact, I think, as a group, Berlin were years ahead of their time with this album. I make sure these songs are on my playlist when working out, or when I need a shot of adrenaline. Like Flames and Pink and Velvet are my favorites, but the entire album is amazing! It has a truly contemporary sound and the work the band put into it really shines through.
