Soft

Shaking off the oldies will apparently take a little longer. The old original bluesmen didn't get soft when they got old. Then again they didn't spend 40 years hanging out with models drinking champagne and sharing clothes. Best song on the album, Rollin' & Tumblin' even sounds a little too much like a Victoria's Secret ad rather than jagged blues rocker it should be. Nothing wrong with a little fire when you get older (some of those former wives must have taken some of your money!), Maybe call Ronnie (and maybe Jeff) and head down to Chicago or Memphis with little in your pockets, no place to stay, and spend some time in a few dark non-commercial blues halls, drinking whiskey and getting in trouble, take the bus and stay on the wrong side of the tracks. Get Ronnie to dig up that dirty, filthy, fuzz and get to it. Take off that shiny lapel and put on a sweaty blue collar. Pretend that you never got to hear those crowds calling and shouting out your name and that you're still unsatified! You've served the easy fans now let's get back to work!! One more time for the boys.
Omg yes!!!

Awesome set of songs, takes me back to some of his greatest music in the 1970’s.
Great Surprise

Third album since he retunred to writing his own stuff. Clearly the best of the three. I'd say probably his best since the When We the New Boys. Solid all the way through with at least a half dozen that rank up there with his best work. This is not the Faces Rod tho. If you liked Tonight I'm Yours or Out of Order, you'll love this.

For those of you who want 1970’s Rockin’ Rod this is not for you. For those of you who want to reflect on the words and message of the songs this is for you. Amazed that 40 years later Rod Stewart is still adapting to the times. Still has an amazing God given unique voice and sings with passion. Glad Rod shared his memories with us via this album. Whether your 18 or 70 you will find a song and more to love about on this album.
Renewed Energy

Rod is one of the all-time greats, but as he got up in years, there have been questions about his ability to bring the energy. Well, he's back! This is a great combination of the classic Rod sound with new, young musicians and technology to deliver a pulsating album. The ballads are rich with emotion and the up tempo offerings defy your butt not to shake. And, the remake of Rollin' and Tumblin' show Rod has not lost his rock roots....please do more!
Very Nice!
