I purchased Close BEFORE I knew about Sapp's collaboration with R.Kelly. So when "Listen" started to play, I thought, NAH! But I kept going back to "Listen," in mega denial. There is NO WAY a man whose life is submitted Christ would create anything with a predator who is not sorry about the unspeakable crimes he CONTINUES to commit AGAINST GIRLS AND WOMEN. Sapp has daughters. (Come on!) Not supporting a pastor/artist who actually believes his justification to use this song-it is not judgment that I am rendering.
It is a choice to love Christ-to love the least of these. The least of these who are STILL silenced, shamed, and blamed by the systemic abuse of children in the ONE place they should find safety and refuge. My heart breaks for Sapp, but it is far more broken for those he's supposedly charged as a pastor to protect. He left them out to pasture...to reap the monetary benfits and fame from making song with a predator.
Great album!!! Bringing good old gospel feels back!

The reason why I love this album so much is because you didn't change your style. A lot of gospel artists are changing their music to "keep up" with the new generation but I hate that because it's completely different from what I listened to when I was little. Thank you!!

Marvin Sapp sings such heartfelt songs that go straight to your heartstrings. His music touches you to the point that you can't keep from shedding tears and praising GOD for His truths . Keep singing because we will keep listening!

Bishop Marvin Sapp has always come through with incredible music. Many of which brought me through some tough times in my life (not forgetting the anointing of God working through Him).
