    So Sousa takes his marches at a quick tempo - love it! These recordings would certainly come from old 78's if not even cylinders, so the sound will be as such, but it is great to have Sousa himself at the helm.

    You should be happy that you can get these. I love the old record sound, and it's even better because it is Sousa himself directing the band.

    ...and will include more than a few "vintage" recordings. But, that said, Sousa's recording of the Washington Post March is worth the price of the entire album. It's probably the best march ever written, and this is among the best ever recorded.

    Many may think this is bad quality. It is actually recording's of John Philip Sousa conducting his own band. This is history and is an excellent example of how his marches should sound.
