Reviews

  • One of the worst live bums ever!

I saw this tour and they were so bad I bought the cd just to prove how bad it was to my friends. It was a huge letdown as I was a big fan of both and had seen them apart on several occaisions. The worst part was Leon Russell was supposed to be on the bill and was sick. Buy this only if you need a good laugh.
  • This is an excellent live album by two excellent artists.

I'm not a huge fan of live albums as most of them try to capture the excitment of the performance more than the music being played.Too much crowd noise, or worse, hearing the performer trying to stoke the crowd makes most life albums a waste of time. This is album does not fall into any of those traps. Sure, you know these guys are playing in front of a live crowd but it's as if they mic'ed each member as if they were in the studio and then mixed it down accordingly. So you get a very "live" sound but still amazinging clear and balanced. And none of that silly live album filler like "I hear Tokyo loves to party!!!".... Good solid performance by all but that's to be expected. Fly Away, while a great song sort of breaks the pacing a bit but it's Edgar Winter, I can live with it! :) Rick is as bada$$ as always. Check this one out, you'll dig it.
