God grants the desires of our heart, when we delight ourselves in Him. From the moment I heard, "In All the Earth" (the GATJ Chapter I) my soul rejoiced at the fusion of Gospel, Jazz, Rhythm & Blues, Soul, Funk... After seeing a clip of "So Far, So Good" from Chapter II, I wanted "to be in that number." The desire was fulfilled when Chapter III was recorded at Reid Temple in Glendale, MD. "Ta Ta You" Kirk Whalum for all the Chapters! IV your rendition of "My Hero" is superb. "Let 'Em In" brought a smile to my face and ears. It warmed my heart to hear the narrative, notes and tributes payed to Nannette, George Duke, Wayman Tisdale and Nelson Mandel. Well done for the IVth time. Grace & Peace to you.
Masterful.....

It's so interesting to me to know that, even avid church goers enjoy jazz, however they have to go to where jazz is played, which is typically not in the 4 walls of church.......However, kirk obviously recognizes this fact, therefore bringing jazz to the institution we call church. Awesome concept & delivery of masterful musical presentations.......We miss George tremendously on this project, but it's still incredibly awesome!
Top Shelf as Usual!!
