Saw you at midpoint in cinci and you made our night. Great live show. Super talented. Fun to stumble into such a great band cuz that is what that festival is all about. Thanks for coming from Chicago. We just moved from there but somehow live music is so much more accessible in cinci. So you should keep coming back!

Backed by an ace young Chicago jazz band, folky mid-Westerner Walker cranked out this wonderful musical gem that’s sometimes reminiscent of early 1970s Tim Buckley and Nick Drake. The CD cover is even reminiscent of Van Morrison’s classic 1968 “Astral Weeks” album cover. In my opinion, its one of the year's best.
Strong 60’s vibe. A real time machine.

Really fresh record. Kottke, Fahey, Youngbloods, Quicksilver, and John Mark/Johnny Almond come to mind but this is still very original. Not many musicians today have the chops or songs pull off a jazzy and jammy acoustic record like this. Glad I stumbled onto this guy in an Uncut Mag piece.

Feeling like he's performing a private show for close friends at some small coffee shop in Greenwich Village circa late 60s or early 70s, Ryley Walker's album is intimate, raw and hypnotically compelling - with a throw-back quality that is comforting and familiar - yet utterly fresh at the same time. The perfect music to accompany you on a long summer road trip driving through the countryside, by the campfire, or even late at night drifting down the empty streets as the city sleeps and a light fog envelopes the landscape. Timeless, romantic, vulnerable and provocative in almost a Nick Drake sort of way. So much is conjured up with his music. Highly recommended if you're looking for something a little different from today's "me to" fare.
