  • Barbershop at the highest level, more

When Ringmasters won in 2012, they brought some of the best singing the stage has seen since the early 2000s, not to mention some serious energy; this album is more of that. Honestly, who could complain? The music is chosen perfectly, the signing is top notch, the audio mixing/mastering easily surpassing the previous album: pick this one up. I dare you to be amazed.

Ringmasters II absolutely blows their first album out of the water. The arrangements and the performances are unlike anything going on in barbershop right now. This isn't just a good "for a barbershop album". This is a cohesive, thought-out, meticulously crafted album that should be listened to straight through every time. Also, this one is mixed much better than their first.

With respect to Ringmasters, whom we met on Celebrity Solstice, Nov 2012, this new release lacks the energy of Ringmasters I. Don't mistake that for lack of harmony - that's certainly not missing - these guys are awesome, but as far as a little zing in the tracks... 'I Love Being Here With You', 'Java Jive' and 'Everything' are tops in this album, but the rest of the tracks don't measure up to the superb 'Eight Days a Week', 'Baby Driver', and 'Can't Buy Me Love' that appear on their first album we bought on that cruise.
